Ebenezer Chapel

Ebenezer Chapel a.k.a. Armenian Meeting House.

Described by Davison as standing a little below the Correction House in the same lane - a plain and unassuming building with no gallery. Labelled as chapel on the 1850 OS map, but by the time Skelly was writing the building had been sold for domestic use. It has now gone.

Appears in the 1851 religious survey as "Unitarian Chapel" built in 1817.

A Unitarian chapel established following a split with the Bethel New Connexion congregation. Initially meeting in a school room in 1816, the congregation moved into a new chapel in Correction House Yard in 1817.
