Designed by Mr. G.Reavell, jun. For Mr. W. R. Hindmarsh. Plans submitted 1881 Mr Hindmarsh signed 1882 letter to Alnwick Mercury re gas lighting on Alnmouth road. Used as hostel for evacuees 1939. Offered for sale 1945. Was  multi-occupancy post-war.  Still in residential use.

Alnwick, 3rd October 1882. To the Chairman and Members of the Alnwick Local Board. The undersigned being owners or occupiers of property on the Alnmouth Road, and within the Looal Board District, would respectfully the Board for its consi 'oration the need 'hat exists for least two more Gas Lamps bping beyond tbe fortberest present in existence between the junction at the Station Road and tfoval There ore now 7 Gas Lamps at distance* of yarda or thereabouts. Beyond this point, \ 150 yarda, there is or c lamp opposite the entrance toAlnbauk; at another 150 yards, one at the entrance to Ravensmeade; at another 150 yards. one at the top of Windy bank. It is asked now, that other two be placed at simil ir distances hioh will bring one about opposite the entrance to .-ummer Hill (Mr Sanderson's,) and Windy Edge (Mr Taylor's ) and another nearly oppos the entrance to Thornhill (Mrs Robertson's) which will also give some light to the entrance Crag View (Mr Hindmarsh,) and the side entrance to Oaklanda (Mr Amos'a). The fact that the whole of these properties are raced under the Local Board jurisdiction would seem to make this application reasonable. « Yonrs obediently, W. B. Hindmarsh. Henry Sanderson. W. J. Taylor. H. T. Purvis. Wm. Robertson. Robrrt Amos." It was resolved on the motion of Candlish. seconded by Mr Geo. Simpson that the application be granted. M.r Scorr, that the lamps, on the Alnmouth roact nad not all been lit. W. Turnbull explained that they had been lit, but had afterwards been turned out by boys.
