OBITUARY 26 Feb 1914. THE LATE DR. A. J. MAIN, OF ALNWICK. The remains of the late Dr. Alexander James Main, of Thornbrae, Alnwick, were interred in the cemetery of that town yesterday afternoon, in the presence of a large gathering of mourners and sympathising friends. The funeral procession was headed by about fifty members of the Alnwick Lodge of Freemasons, and brethren of the Mark Master Lodge, with which deceased was officially connected. The chief mourners were Mr John Main, Cleator Moor, and Mr Ramsay Main, Glasgow (brothers); Mr Thornton Craine, Liverpool (son-in-law); and Mr Robert Campbell, Glasgow. The Committee of Management of the Alnwick Infirmary, of which the late Dr. Main was president, was represented Captain T. G. Gibson (vice-president), Mr Thomas Graham (chairman), County Councillor W. Weston (vioe-chairman). Mr John Davison (Alndyke), William Bell (Ratcheugh), Mr Geo. Craik, County Councillor James Frater. Mr Adam Robertson,. Mr C. E. Purvis, Dr. Scott Dr. R. B. Robson, and Mr P. G. Reynolds (treasurer). There were also present a large number of tradesmen and others belonging to the town and district. There were several private carriages, in one of which was Lord William Percy, representing the Duke of Northumberland. The burial service was conducted the Rev. Canon Mangin. Vicar of Alnwick, and the Rev. Canon Moore. Vicar St. Paul's, Alnwick; and the funeral rites of the Masonic order the Rev. P. T. Lee, Vifcar of Shilbottle.
