Built around 1870 for William Baird. References in 1876 for Mr W Sanderson of Summerhill. Enlarged by Henry Sanderson. Sanderson signed 1882 letter to Alnwick Mercury re gas lighting on Alnmouth road. Listed in 1914 directory (Joseph Sanderson). Hotel during and after the war (to 1960's) Back in residential use.
