The annual general statement of this very helpful institution, of which Her Grace the Duchess of Northumberland is president, just issued, shows that the Alnwick district nurses during the year attended 125 medical, 67 surgical, 9 maternity, and 5 cronic cases, making a total of 206, and they had made a total of 5,717 visits. The committee were gratified to note the increas- ing interest taken in the work of the association by the working men of the town. ‘The urses! houses in Bailiffgate had undergone thorough repair and renovation at the entire cost of their Graces, the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland ; valuable gifts of a bath chair; to the ladies of the Northumberland Needlework Guild and Mrs. Connor and Mr-. , for gifts of clothing ; to the Vicar and churchwardens of St. Paul's, for granting the harvest thanksgiving offertory to to the sick fund; and to Mr. Geo. Robinson, for re £11 2s 6d to the institution—the an entertainment inaugurated by . The receipts for the year, including a balance of £99 7s, and subscriptions, £177 108 5d, amounted to £304 10s 10d; and the a to £195 13s 7d, leaving a balance in favour of £108 17s 3d. —————ES=_ MARKETS.
