Warehouse in station yard

Description

Alnwick railway station is a listed building but following its closure in the 1960s, several unsuitable add-ons were allowed in the former goods yard area to the south west. The former warehouse survives in use as storage, but this seems to be in decline. The purchase of the whole station area by Northumberland Estates with the long-term purpose of turning into an entertainment complex is a potential threat to this building in particular and therefore to the setting of the listed building.
